Radiation Countdown: 5 to go! Next week at this time, I will be DONE!
Today was my first boost radiation and it was a breeze. It actually took longer to position the machine than the radiation itself. I think it lasted about 20 seconds, tops.
The area under my arm pit was a little sensitive today, but I’m still not going to complain. My BC friends at radiation are experiencing much worse than sensitivity. One looks like her skin was scalded, it is so red (and she has 16 treatments left). The other is itchy beyond belief. Nope. No complaints here.
I am started to think about returning to a normal life and not having treatments to run to every day. I admit that I will miss two things: Being required to leave work by 3:15 every day (and therefore, being home at a reasonable time), and taking my daily 20 minute Epsom salt baths (guaranteed 20 minutes of relaxation for myself every day). I could make promises to myself to continue to leave work timely, or to continue those 20 minutes for myself, but those would likely be broken promises. Maybe once in a while, though…
