There are people in your life who just have a way of lifting you up, inspiring you. They encourage, support and believe in you. They challenge you to think differently about the path before you and you know they will hold your hand, whatever path you choose.
Those are the friends that dig deep into your soul to find the pain you hide and challenge you look inside yourself. Who know exactly the right questions to ask, and who wait patiently for the answers. They understand, validate and love unconditionally, but aren’t afraid to offer a differing viewpoint.
I got to spend meaningful, but all too brief, time with one of my favorite people in the world today. We have been friends since, dare I say, 1972! She is just one of the most amazing people and I am lucky to call her a friend. No matter where life has taken us, we have always stay connected in some way and we make the most of whatever time we can get.
I urge you to find those people in your lives — who love, inspire, validate and lift. Spend some time with them. Just a few minutes in their company will be good for your soul… and for your health.
To my friend: Thank you. I wish you lived closer, but I’ll take whatever time we can get together. You have no idea how you have influenced my life over the years, and I am so very grateful for your friendship. Love you!
