Today was my quarterly visit to my naturalist. I could probably get away with going a little less often, but it’s important to me to keep everything in balance to prevent future disease. I like having the check in every three months to adjust as necessary, particularly hormones. Plus, I just adore and admire Aimee and enjoy our conversations!
While all my organs were “in the green”, today’s visit did result in some adjustments of the herbal hormones. My progesterone levels were low, so she switched me from Wild Yam tablets to Pro G Yam Cream, since the absorption is better from the skin than the digestive tract. I’ll continue to take Flash Ease and Women’s X Action, as well as Indole 3 Carbinol and Vitamin D3 to keep all my hormones in check.
Luckily there were no major issues identified today, although my adrenals are super tired, and I was dehydrated. (Yep. Again/Still.) In terms of the fatigue, I try to get a solid 7-8 hours of sleep a night, but I frequently have trouble falling asleep and I don’t think I always get a deep slumber.
For the adrenal fatigue, I’ll be taking AdaptaMax. This herbal blend includes such things as Korean ginseng, astragalus, alfalfa, kelp, and ginkgo — plus a host of herbs I’ve never heard of: Ashwagang. Schizandra. The lower progesterone is also contributing to the fatigue, so we’ll hit it in two ways.
I was glad to see that my heavy metals were good…no need to continue the heavy metal detox. I’m wondering if it’s because I’m eating more organic…
As for the dehydration, I know…. I need to drink more water. I don’t know why it’s so hard for me to do that. In an effort to help me, a coworker today told me about a new app: Plant Nanny. (Download free on your smart phone.)
Plant Nanny is an app to help you track your water intake and to encourage you to drink more, all via gamification. You choose a plant to “grow” and you water your virtual plant by tracking the fluids you drink all day. It’s totally adorable and, for day one, I had some success with it. 93 ounces! That’s about 70 ounces more than usual! I hope I’m not up all night peeing! 🙂
You can set up reminders every few hours via text messaging, and it seems you earn points that you can use to upgrade your plants and pots, etc. I’ll try anything if it will help me drink more water!
Meet my baby plant… Ivee. Isn’t she cute? 🙂
