While perusing some other blogs from fellow breast cancer warriors, I read about an organization called “Free the Girls”. I absolutely love the double entendre of the organization’s name, as they collect donations of bras to allow girls saved from sex slavery to provide an opportunity to earn a living selling second-hand clothing.
Why bras, you may ask? Per the website, bras are sought after items, and so many of us have tons of bras that we never wear anymore. (I, personally, was thrilled to empty that entire dresser drawer and box them up for this organization!) To date, they have collected over 80,000 bras. I’ve provided the link below, in the event any of you want additional information and/or an opportunity clean out your own lingerie drawers!
This past week was a bit hectic, and next week proves to be equally so. Between work & personal travel, household activities, school events, and medical “stuff”, both weeks are/were jam packed. I am very excited that next Thursday is my out-patient surgery to have my portacath removed! (Finally!) To me, this is really the true symbol of being done with treatment. I really can’t wait to be free of it!
The weather has been spectacular (sunny and just the right temperature)! Enjoy, everyone!
