Today I returned to my wonderful naturalist and, as always, Aimee imparted her wisdom on me! My thanks to her for doing some extra research on my behalf while at her conference in Utah!
I was happy to see that all of my organ bio-markers were in the “green”, meaning there was nothing totally out of whack. I think that’s the first time I didn’t have something showing up in the red.
My number one issue to address was (get ready!) dehydration. Really? After all my best efforts to drink more and more water, it still doesn’t seem to be enough. I will admit that I am better at it while at work than I am at home, but I was still a little disappointed with this news. Someone get me a water!!
The one thing that was completely awry was my pituitary gland. The pituitary is the “master gland” which secretes hormones that regulate other glands. We had a long discussion on this and suspect the newly introduced Femara to be the culprit. Since this drug is intended to reduce estrogen levels, it surely has caused some chaos with my hormones. (This would explain the night sweats and sleeplessness the past few nights.)
The concern with the Femara, related to the reduced estrogen levels, is increased risk of osteoporosis and heart disease. As such, Aimee wanted to make sure we addressed those items specifically. The big recommendation of the day is to take Indole 3 Carbinol. This supplement has anticancer properties and works by helping to break down the fake estrogens that contribute to cancers.
The second key recommendation is CA ATC Concentrate which contains, among other things, alfalfa, an herbal calcium to help with maintaining healthy bones.
I will continue to take shark cartilidge, liquid chlorophyll, E-Tea, Vitamin D3, B complex, and the Natures Harvest green drink. My iodine levels were low so I will also be taking Liquid Dulse. I know it seems like a lot, but it really isn’t, and it makes a huge difference in my health. Energy levels, skin, hair, immune system… the benefits are endless. And I’d rather spend my money on supplements to improve my health than on prescriptions to mask symptoms once illness sets in.
On a separate note, I broke the grill out tonight and made some awesome portobello burgers… for the whole family! Everyone seemed to enjoy them (I know Ethan and I did for sure; David said he did). So I’m sharing the recipe link below since grilling season is right around the corner and others may be looking for healthier options than hot dogs and hamburgs!
My prayers go out to the City of Boston and all the people harmed by today’s events.
