Radiation countdown: 9 to go
The 9 remaining treatments include 3 “regular” treatments (what I have been getting all along) and 6 ” boost” treatments that are targeted at the scar only. The boost is a different type of radiation, the doctor explained. Instead of an x-ray type radiation, it’s more like ions that target just the scar. He said this would be the easier part of the treatment, even through the first part was pretty easy. At today’s appointment, the doctor drew a picture of my scar on a plastic sheet, and that will be used to help target the last 6 radiation treatments.
My cold is a little better today, although I’m ready to be done with it. My poor nose. 😦 I worked from home today to prevent further contamination at work, and I took a nap at lunch time. That definitely helped. I have to say that I am really disappointed that I got sick. Mostly from the standpoint of knowing that I have been doing all the right things: eating healthy, dropping some extra weight, starting to be more active, juicing, taking my supplements… Drat.
Thankfully, Mom helped with dinner the last two nights since I wasn’t really up to cooking. Last night was a delicious vegetarian stew (I will get the recipe and post, as soon as I remember to ask her for it) and tonight was homemade pierogies. Whatever would I do without my parents?
