Today was an exciting day at work, as it was announced that I got some additional responsibilities. I’m really excited to start working with my new team next week, and I’m honored that my boss believes me capable for the additional team. There will be so much to learn, as it’s something pretty different than my current team, but I’m looking forward to the new challenges. As I wind down on my treatment, as my health continuously improved, and as my energy levels keep increasing, I think this is the perfect time to start something new.
My thanks to the ever-wonderful Leann (and hubby) for the wonderful plant for my office! (I would have inserted a photo, but WordPress is not cooperating tonight with uploads.)
Today was radiation #20 and my weekly appointment with the radiologist. Dr. Peters is on vacation so I saw one of the other doctors. It was still pretty much the same drill. Weight, BP, a few questions and done. Everyone seems amazed that my skin is still good so far. No pinkness, no peeling, no dryness. I guess that’s good. Hopefully it stays that way, although I am cautiously optimistic on that one. I do seem to have a little bit of puffiness on the right side under my arm pit, but it only bothers me if I wear something more constrictive.
My blood pressure continues to be on the lower side (94/60). It’s been in that range since I finished chemo. Normally I’m in the 110/68 range. No worries about a stroke here! I wonder if it’s related at all to my giving up meat.
Tomorrow, due to a full day meeting, I will be going to radiation in the morning (7:15 appointment). I’ll be missing my usual radiation girls!
For those of you who wondered how the borscht turned out… it was really good! I’m not sure that I could or would eat it on a regular basis, but it was nice for something different. I couldn’t get Ethan to try it; he still prefers his red beets juiced! And, of course, David is anti-red beet, so no chance there!
