Since we had the day off today, David and I opted for a little extra sleep and drove Ethan to school for 7:30 rather than get the bus at 6:45. The temperature was holding steady at 32 and it was raining, a dangerous combination. I am so grateful we and all the buses got there safely.
Others were not as lucky. We sat In stopped traffic for about an hour as we set out on our shopping adventures. There were so many accidents all over the place, mainly on bridges it seemed. I know people who sat in traffic for hours trying to get to work. At least they were safe.
The rest of the day was nice. We started with breakfast at Denny’s and I went with the Hobbit Hole breakfast (great ad campaign, Denny’s). This is not the type of breakfast I have been eating the past months but I will admit it was tasty. I skipped the bacon and enjoyed the eggs (haven’t had eggs in a long time), one small sausage link, and hash browns. As tasty as this all was, my body rejected it, having to use gross germy public bathrooms in two stores. (Don’t worry: I used plenty of antibacterial!)
We did manage to nearly finish shopping, hitting a few stores, as well as getting groceries. The shopping that’s left I gave full confidence that David can do without me. He is the champion shopper of the family, after all.
My stomach continued to be iffy in the afternoon. I had a small lunch but needed a Compazine, the first time I’ve needed an anti nausea outside of those first few days after chemo. I’m not sure if I have a bug, or if this is a longer chemo side effect, but I’m not liking it. I love to eat and this just ruins it all.
I managed a little nap this afternoon and hope to get to some wrapping tonight. I’m looking forward to David’s work Christmas party tomorrow. Let’s hope for my tummy behaving itself so I can enjoy dinner!
