A beautiful day today! Enjoyed a sunny drive home again through the pretty leaves, and then jumping in a pile of leaves with Ethan after work/school. Thanks to my Dad for raking them up to surprise Ethan — he couldn’t wait to jump in them! I took a bunch of pictures to catch the joy on his face as he made leaf angels!
I survived a full week of work this week. That’s my first 5-day work week since the week ending August 24th! All I know is my butt is dragging tonight. Hopefully that means I will actually sleep tonight. Not to beat a dead horse on this sleep thing, but it’s starting to really tick me off. I tried a new approach last night: TWO Tylenol PMs taken an hour before bedtime. I was asleep by about 9:15 pm, and slept very soundly until 10:11 freakin’ o’clock!! Seriously?
So rather than toss and turn, I went downstairs and quelled my frustration with some of Mom’s homemade pumpkin bread. I was a wee bit hungry when I got up, but not sure I was hungry enough for the three pieces that I ate. It was very yummy! I played a few rounds of Candy Crush Saga on Facebook and then started wondering if I had Restless Leg Syndrome. So I began Googling to see what I could learn. Turns out that RLS affects the leg from the knee to the ankle. Since these weird feelings in my legs run from my hip and lower back down to my toes, I am now wondering if this is just an odd chemo side effect, or maybe the Neulasta shot (the one that causes bone pain). To my fellow chemo chicks: have you experienced anything like this? Any suggestions?
I tried using a heating pad on my lower back and legs and that seemed to help because I finally fell asleep around 1 a.m., and managed to sleep pretty well until 4:00 a.m. Not great, but better than being restless the entire night.
After four nights of mom cooking dinner for us, we’re on our own tonight. 🙂 It is football season after all and Mom never likes to miss a game, especially now that Miranda is drum major! So take-out tonight: pizza. Not the perfectly nutritious food, but it works in a pinch! I didn’t even have the energy to juice tonight but will get back on track tomorrow.
My heartburn is a lot better the past few days. I started drinking two green drinks in the morning, one at home and one mid morning at work. The creaminess and the alkalinity seem to have worked better than the Prilosec. Three more days of antibiotics to go, and next appointment is Wednesday afternoon for labs and a visit with the PA.
Enjoy the beautiful fall foliage this weekend. For those of you with a 3-day weekend: Lucky you!!
